So this was really exciting…remember how I took the School Photos at my son’s school, The Education Cooperative, last Fall? Well, the Music Therapist asked if she could interview me for the students on the Yearbook committee, and of course I said YES! I’ve been wanting to start making some videos for my business, and this one fell into my lap at just the right time. I didn’t even have to do much prep work, since she asked all the questions. It was great practice, a beneficial learning experience, and a lot of fun.

We talked about why photography is important for creating a Yearbook, and we talked about what I love about photography. She also gave me a perfect opportunity to share what makes my business niche, my specialty, unique. In addition to taking family photos, I particularly want to be The School Photographer for educational institutions and organizations that serve the special needs and disability population. The interview questions definitely made me think about why getting the very best photographs is so important and meaningful to me. I gained a lot of insight that I’m sure will help me improve all of my skills and truly become the Go-To Photographer for this incredible group of students, teachers, and school administrators. Hmm, maybe I should retain her services for my marketing…

The video is also really cool because she added AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) symbols to help the students understand our conversation. We even got a couple of ASL “thank you” signs in at the end! She did a beautiful job editing the video, and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

Here is a link to the interview, and some of the School Photos I got at TEC last October. I do love my job!
